Pictures Of Hands Of People At Shaolin Temple; Hands Of Workers And Hands Of Kungfu Men
**
**
From the pictures of hands it might not be possible to say what they do. In these pictures of hands are included the hands of a kungfu student and the hands of a teenage building worker. The clenched fist shown in the pictures of hands belongs to a Master of Kungfu.
The teenage building worker and the kung fu student are of similar age but as can be seen from the pictures of hands, their lifestyles are completely different. The kung fu hand forms demonstrated by the kung fu student in the pictures of hands, seem to develop hands of steel!
The Kungfu Hand has many forms that the Master and Student develop through practice over time. The pictures of hand on this page shows only a few of them. Each form of the Kungfu hand, if formed correctly, has its own distinctive name, eg. Hou Zhua, Suo Hou, to name only two of them.

The hand is part of the defensive weaponry of the body of the Kung Fu Warrior. The open hand is as effective as the clenched fist as shown in the picture of the hand of the Kungfu Master.
At the Shaolin Temple there are Gingko Trees with holes penetrating the trunk, that have been made by the finger-poking of kungfu students and monks over the years. Their hands seem to develop into hands of steel in course of time.
In the pictures of hand are also shown the hands of a young building worker employed in the redevelopment of the Shaolin Temple. His hands are the hands of a worker that seem to have been exposed to all the adverse weather conditions possible, and to the use of materials that can cause serious conditions of the skin. Working with lime and without protective gloves can cause hard dry skin that tends to be prone to cracking.

HANDS:
The hands are the two intricate, prehensile, multi-fingered body parts normally located at the end of each arm of a primate. They are the chief organs for physically manipulating the environment, used for both gross motor skills, such as grasping a large object, and fine motor skills, such as picking up a small pebble. The fingertips contain some of the densest areas of nerve endings on the body, are the richest source of tactile feedback, and have the greatest positioning capability of the body; thus the sense of touch is intimately associated with hands. Like other paired organs, eyes, ears, legs, each hand is dominantly controlled by the opposing brain hemisphere, and thus handedness, or preferred hand choice for single-handed activities such as writing with a pen, reflects a significant individual trait.

| Travelling to the Shaolin Temple site entrance by minibus takes about 15 minutes, but there are plenty of taxies available in Dengfeng. At the park entrance you either walk to the Shaolin Temple or take an electric shuttle-bus. |
