Highlights of Visit To Guangzhou Include Night View Of Metro Station Work By Baiyun Hotel
It is difficult to pinpoint any occasion that has been the highlight of a visit to China or to any destination in the country. The view from the Baiyun Hotel was certainly of interest, and this was enhanced by all the lights that came on at night fall.
Undoubtedly Qin's son Yu Wei was the star attraction at our dinners together, even at the young age of three. On one occasion, at the end of dinner, he was given a large slice of an apple. I stretched out my hand over the table and asked him to give me the apple. He got down from his chair, walked around the table to be by my side, broke the slice of apple in two, gave me one piece then calmly walked back to his chair!
Attractive Plant In Grounds of Museum and Private Compartment In Train as Guangzhou Highlights
In a courtyard of the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, we came across this plant, the like of which I had only occasionally seen during my travels in China. The name of the plant is still unknown to me, but it is not something that you are likely to forget.
Travelling by train adds less to your 'carbon footprint' than travelling by plane, but also there is far more of any country to be seen through a train window, than from the window of an up-and-down plane journey. Of course, it all depends on how much time is available to you. For our 28 hour journey from Guangzhou back to Beijing, we had a private compartment to ourselves, complete with cupboards, two bunks, and a private toilet and washbasin. The restaurant carriage was right next to our own, so we could safely lock our compartment door, and enjoy a restaurant meal at leisure. When we returned to our compartment, all we needed to do was to ask the attendant to unlock our door!
